ALTERNATIVE GIFT MARKET   Sundays, December 1 and 8
Want to know what to give someone who seems to have everything or doesn’t want a “present” this Christmas?  We have some ideas for you at the Alternative Gift Market.  There will be four organizations/causes (local, United States, International, St. James) you can give to in someone’s name.  We will provide you with a gift card to give to them which will tell them what work the organization is able to do, because of your gift in their name.

Whether you have been a practitioner of centering prayer or not, you will feel at home with those who meet to share their experiences with centering prayer, encourage one another in this spiritual practice, and do centering prayer together.  How to do centering prayer instruction (easy to learn) is given at each meeting, as needed.

Those who have become members or started attending St. James over the last year or so will meet four times throughout the academic year to get to know each other better, be introduced to a spiritual practice that can help us grow in faith and learn about one of the outreach or missions of St. James.

As a program and training site for PAWS for People we offer both visitation with a pet therapy dog to those with mental health issues and a reading program for ages 5 through 6th grade in which children read to a certified pet therapy dog.  If interested in assisting with the programs, contact Pastor Lynn, lplampman@comcast.net.

We will gather to hear a summary and have a discussion of the book, Raising White Kids in a Racially Unjust America by Jennifer Harvey, which explores how parents of white children should navigate the topic of race in the United States.
