Worship & Music (Sunday 10:30AM)

You will find when you are with us at St. James that we have various ideas about what makes worship meaningful and engaging for each of us. Because of our diversity we seek to incorporate various and different elements in our music and worship.

The worship at St. James is experiential, engaging, multi-sensory and heartfelt.  Our services of worship are highly accessible for people of all ages (children, youth and adults), for those familiar with church as well as those who have not regularly attended a church or not at all.  In our worship, we have times of singing, listening, silence and praying.

Tony and Marion sharing their talents provides us with a rich worship experience. On any given Sunday you may hear music from the organ, flute, keyboard, piano, drums, bells, and maybe even a ukulele as well as the choir.  You will hear music from many genres and places: praise, multicultural, contemporary, traditional, Jazz, Gospel and classical music.  Our choir embraces all kinds of music and we are as varied as the music we sing. The members of our choir range in age from 10-90 years old.  Their time together is a much treasured element of life at St. James.
Two generations of choir members reflect in the sun, on the Son, prior to service.
Choir time is filled with  learning and presenting music to God and for the worshipping congregation, and mutually caring for each, as well as having times of great joy and laughter. Choir rehearsals are Sunday morning, immediately following our service of worship.  Our music program is directed by Mr. Tony Dratwa.  If you are interested in our choir or learning more about the music program at St. James, please contact Tony at (610) 595-6979.

The sermons at St. James focus on our relationship with God, as well as our relationship with those around us.  The Scripture passages are explored and application to daily life is always made.  Please feel free to download some of our latest sermons from the links on our home page.

Blessing of the Animals
On Sunday, October 10, 9:00 a.m., we will be holding a blessing of the animals (dogs, cats, ferrets, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, hermit crabs, etc.) service for all members of St. James and their friends and family, as well as for our neighbors and their pets in Chatham Village and Park.  The service will last about 30 mins. and will be held in the lower parking lot.  Each animal and owner will receive a blessing from the pastor.  It will be followed by a coffee hour for humans, dogs and cats alike.  It is our hope and prayer that this service will really resonate and meet the needs of our neighbors (who have more dogs than I have ever seen in any one neighborhood before).  Come on out and bring your animals with you.
