The people of St. James know the following to be true:  

• Our God is alive and active in our world. 

• Our faith brings us comfort, guidance and purpose.  It challenges us to be all that God created us to be.

• Our lives need to reflect the love, life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  We want to not only tell you about what a difference God has made in our lives.  We want to let you see the difference we are committed to make in our world.  Love is the motive behind all we do and service is not only seen as our responsibility, but as our privilege as well.

• Asking questions are an essential part of the journey of faith.  So, we not only accept questions from seekers, we welcome and appreciate them for in so doing we find we are able to go deeper with God when we dare to ask questions.

• Having diversity makes a community stronger.  We are diverse in beliefs, lifestyles, views, backgrounds and opinions. We do not fear this diversity, but rather welcome and celebrate it.  What unites us are the spiritual practices we are engaged in (reading and reflecting on the Bible, prayer, Communion/Eucharist, baptism, acts of charity and justice, worship,  etc.).  Given all this, you can rest assured that no matter where you are on life’s journey you are welcome at St. James United Church of Christ.
